A common top-note in perfumes. Historically, Bergamot essential oil was a major component of the original Eau de Cologne by Farina at the beginning of the 18th century.  Notably, as a fragrance ingredient, it was first  documented in 1714, as found in the Farina Archive in Cologne.

One hundred Bergamot oranges will yield approximately 85 grams of Bergamot essential oil.
