Clary Sage essential oil has a long history as a medicinal herb. Cultivated these days for its essential oil. It has a special herbaceous, earthy, somewhat floral fragrance.
The character and fragrance can vary. This depends on its geographical origin. We have found that the oil from Russia can be a lot different from that sourced from France. The freshness of leaves used for distillation can also affect the fragrance.
Blending with Clary Sage Essential Oil
It blends well with the citrus, floral, herbaceous, and wood families. You don’t need to use very much. It blends particularly well with Bergamot, Lavender, Cedarwood, and Patchouli. In perfumery, used to soften up green notes, or clean up florals. Clary sage acts as a middle note and fixative in fragrance blends. Used to give body, fullness, and warmth to a blend. The oil provides a unique mellowness and persistence to a blend.
Blended with other oils, its light earthy scent make it useful for men’s products.
Calming, revitalizing, and balancing. A great oil to vaporize when you need to destress and loosen up.
